Creative brief
The Singing Trees installation, the fruit of collaboration between Ircam and Ircam Amplify, was created at the request of the Théâtre du Châtelet. Conceived by the Umbrellum collective with technical support from Ircam amplify, this innovative project aims to bring a tree choir to life through musical compositions specially adapted to the installation. To achieve this objective, IRCAM's vocal transformation tools were used to metamorphose human voices into sounds evoking the language of trees, while avoiding humanizing or mechanizing them.
